GPS government said the intention to amend Article 16 of the Sarawak Constitution was to protect Sarawak's rights concerning the eligibility of persons to stand elections and be elected as members of the Dewan Undangan Negri (DUN).

This is a welcome move although there are legal loopholes as argued by many, but, time will tell whether this protection could sustain because federal parliament, being controlled by Malaya is so powerful, that it could amend the federal constitution, and pass any law to take away all rights of Sarawak, inclusive of the rights protected under Article 16 of Sarawak Constitution.

It would be easier to take away Sarawak's rights, if political parties from Malaya takes over the Sarawak state government because political parties from Malaya may wish to get away the protection of Sarawak's right passed by GPS government to Article 16 of the Sarawak Constitution recently.
If Article 16 be revoked, a day will come for Sarawak to see Malayans and Sabahans occupying Sarawak DUN.

In the recent DUN sitting, DAP alleged for the past 55 years, BN/GPS government was unable to adequately protect Sarawak's rights. Such criticisms by YB David Wong of DAP against BN/GPS is not unfounded and BN/GPS should now take a serious look at the criticisms made to ensure Sarawak's rights be protected.

To adequately protect Sarawak's rights, there is a need for BN/GPS government to pass a law in the Sarawak Legislature to forbid political parties like DAP, PKR, Amanah, PAS and others from contesting in any election in Sarawak, including elections for state and Parliamentary seats.

Being a partner of Pakatan Nasional (PN) government, it is time for GPS government to convince the PN federal government to amend the federal constitution and all relevant laws to ensure all Malayan parties to close shop in Sarawak. If PN federal government disagrees, then, it could be a legitimate excuse for GPS government to seek exit from the federation of Malaysia. If GPS government refuses to make a move, then, it is time for Sarawakians to remove them from further govern Sarawak because Sarawakians should view this as a failure to protect Sarawak's rights.

Politics in Sarawak need no intervention from political parties and people from Malaya. We do not welcome Malayan cultures into Sarawak's political scene because political cultures from Malaya are not suitable for Sarawak.

What are their motives to interfere with Sarawak affairs and politics? If Malayan political parties could control DUN, many of Sarawak's natural resources will be mined by people from Malaya and leaving the crumbs to Sarawak people

Each time when elections come, Malayans came here in numbers to campaign and when for some reasons, Sarawak was enforcing its immigration rights forbidding certain unwanted characters to set foot in Sarawak, Malayan politicians were not happy and wanted Sarawak immigration autonomy be taken away with. Malayan political parties have no business in Sarawak and Sarawakians are urged to oust them from Sarawak's soil.

At the moment, not only Sarawakians who are in Malayan parties but Malayans and Sabahans can also under Article 47 of the federal constitution contest for any parliament seat in Sarawak. Sarawakians need to be advised that a seat won by any political party from Malaya is a seat won for Malaya.

I don't think it was the intention of our forefathers to allow Malaya political parties to set foot in Sarawak. Definitely, it could not be any intention of our forefathers to see Malayans control our DUN and Sarawak government.
