The phrase absolute power corrupts absolutely is a popular proverb that has been around for centuries. Its powerful message speaks to the dangers of giving one person too much power and control. The proverb highlights the idea that when people are given too much power and control, they can become corrupt and abuse their position for personal gain. This can lead to negative consequences for the people they are supposed to serve, as well as for society as a whole.

The Dubai Move which is denied by Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) leaders of such thing happening, is the best opportunity for Sabah and Sarawak to work ways out to take all oil and gas resources back.

Political parties from Malaya are not welcome to interfere with the affairs of people of Sarawak, especially, concerning immigration matters and allowing foreigners to seek refuge here. There is no reason to accept refugees in Sarawak. We need to take care of our own poor. It is not easy to give food and accommodation to refugees and we should not accommodate them.

Voon Lee ShanSarawak government should not allow or encourage the taking or employment of illegal foreign workers in the State. If the state allows the employment of foreign workers, this shows that the state did not come with a proper plan on how to develop skilled and semi-skilled manpower to help the industries in the state.

Voon Lee ShanA series of police reports had been lodged concerning the contents of a Facebook account holder of Gerald Kerr depicting our Lord Jesus was naked on the cross. This is very irresponsible and a great insult to our Lord and to our Christian community.

The Association of Churches in Sarawak (ACS) had been invited to “A CHRISTMAS CAROL, SARAWAK IN DIVERSITY” programme on 3 December, 2023 at Padang Merdeka, Kuching. I was made to understand that Premier DATUK PATINGGI TAN SRI (DR) ABANG HAJI ABDUL RAHMAN ZOHARI BIN TUN DATUK ABANG HAJI OPENG will be the Guest of Honour. TVS is the main organizer and this program was said supported by Unit Hal Ehwal Agama-agama Lain of the Premier’s Department, Sarawak.

Feedbacks received of the demonstration ahead of the ruling in front of the Palace of Justice, Putrajaya, with some politicians addressing the crowd about the suit filed by Nik Elin Zurina Nik Abdul Rashid and her daughter Tengku Yasmin Nastasha Tengku Abdul Rahman, challenging the constitutionality of 20 provisions under Kelantan’s syariah criminal enactment should be of concern for all Malaysians.

In past one year, there were many discussions and debates about the office governorship of Sarawak. I observed Dayak community is calling for a Dayak to be the next governor of Sarawak in the event our governor retires.

Many leaders in PBB/GPS including ministers asked why should PBK fight when no chance of winning? Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) just have to fight the way PBK can. Although with very limited resources and manpower, PBK. still won't give up. It is big task and difficult mission for PBK and I hope the general public know the hearts of PBK in fighting for the people of Sarawak.

For Sarawak politics, the manifesto is "money", and you cannot move around without money. Elections in Sarawak, especially, in rural areas, it is about merrymaking. People prefer dancing and get drunk and talking about issues about politics and and how to move forward are not matters that could be understood by voters.

Since MALAYSIA existed, the Sarawak government which was at all times, being controlled by PBB/BN/GPS had always been harping on improving and or providing better infrastructure to people in all elections, but, we hardly see much improvement of infrastructure for the people.Too many people remained poor.

Leaders of PBB said their party is very strong and indefeateable in N67 Jepak. They are too strong that premier was so happy when only "ants" dared to contest against PBB/GPS.

I was asked to raise the concern of Sarawakians of the possibility by the GPS government to turn the position of TYT Sarawak a Sultan. Technically, at the moment, Sarawak has no opposition voice in the DUN and with its full control of the Dewan Undangan Negeri, Sarawakians should not discount the possibility of GPS government, abuse its democratic power, to amend the Sarawak Constitution to turn the Head of State of Sarawak be called a Sultan.

The Constitution allows the practice of democracy but by calling PBK not to contest in the Jepak By-election shows that PBB and GPS are moving towards dictatorship. They are in control of nearly all the 82 seats in DUN and with PSB merging with PDP soon, Sarawak will have no local party as mouth piece for the people of Sarawak.

Voon L SDuring the nomination for the Jepak By-election at Dewan Suarah Bintulu some PBB and GPS leaders thrown insult by calling Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) a mosquito/ant party and urge PBK to withdraw from contesting as it's a waste of money and time to contest.

The SARAWAK government on 19 May 2023 has in the press announced a proposal to issue a "Sarawakpass", which seems is a digital identification to replace mykad. This Sarawakpass digital ID will be used for various dealings with the government, public transport, payment, buying and selling and for various other daily affairs of the people.

The call by the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chief whip, who is also the Deputy Prime Minster, Fadillah Yusof to suggest that the GPS candidate be allowed to walk free to retain the Jepak Seat unopposed in the state elections is “a way to kill democracy”. GPS at the moment is in control of the Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) and it was a nearly clean sweep in the last 12th Sarawak Elections.

The Kingdom of Sarawak was founded by Sir James Brooke and the Rajah never discriminated or classified people born in Sarawak as natives and non- natives. It was the Rajah Order 1920 that all natural born Sarawakians were natives and Sarawak government should maintain this.

Sabahans and Sarawakians have to examine statements made politicians and also a recent statement made by DPM Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi when they said Sabah and Sarawak are now accorded the status of regions and no more regarded as states in Malaysia – see World of Buzz January 13, 2023. It has to be made known to Sabahans and Sarawakians that Sabah and Sarawak were once countries independent from Malaya but was as a result of neo-colonialism engineered by the British to protect its interest in this region which at the same time engineered by the British to deny the rights of Sabah and Sarawak to gain independence by procedures laid down under the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 1514.

Time and again I received voice of unhappiness including from retired senior police officers over the loss of Sarawak Constabulary and they want Sarawak Constabulary be restored.

Nothing is perfect in politics but the team assembled by the honourable prime minister Dato Sri Anwar Ibrahim should be lauded for his efforts to come with a team that could compromise the differences of ideologies of all political parties that helped to form this Unity Cabinet.

My colleagues and I are being arrested and are now in Simpang Tiga Police Station Kuching. I was told I was put under arrest under Sedition Act 1948. But police did not tell me what activities or words that I said were against the law.

The just concluded elections are a “political prostitution” of democracy. It makes democracy no more a sacred process to elect politicians and political parties to run the country. Citizens now see politicians as “prostitutes” sleeping with whom they can freely choose once elected. They keep not their words with whom they would not “sleep” with.

The Malaysian 15th Parliamentary Elections held on Saturday 19-11-2022 resulted in victories and defeats that created history. It has been 5 days since the fateful day and Malaysians are still awaiting for the announcement of a government that will hopefully deliver on all its election promises and truly heal Malaysia.

PH government had lowered the voting age to 18 years old and it now works against PH itself. UNDI-18 has become a sword by certain groups for their end.

If not careful these groups can penetrate secular society especially in Sarawak with their ideology to change their lifestyle.

As President of Parti Bumi Kenyalang, I am making this special appeal to all voters in Sarawak to vote for our Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) candidates who are contesting in this 15th General Elections. PBK is only contesting in four seats. These seats are the seat of Bandar Kuching, Stampin, Lanang and Mas Gading. Contesting for Bandar Kuching is myself, Voon Lee Shan. Lue Cheng Hing is contesting for Stampin and Priscilla Lau for Lanang seats while Ryan Sim Min Leong is contesting for Mas Gading seat.

KUCHING, Nov 7: Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) pleads to Democratic Action Party (DAP) to withdraw from contesting in Sarawak in the 15th General Election (GE15). Its president Voon Lee Shan said there are three reasons why DAP should withdraw from this election.

Hitting PBK and their members below the belt by you accusing us that way instead of debating on issues affecting the livelihood and well-being of people shows that you are empty tins and not able to solve problems affecting people and country, Sarawak. Each elections come, your empty tin becomes louder and louder to the extent of telling voters you will seal our roads and drains with gold, jade and diamonds.

I am appealing to party supporters to donate funds to our Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) candidates who stand elections in this 15th General Elections. Your donations could be given to our party candidates who are standing in this 15th General Elections or to our party. Your help however little will be very meaningful to us and it will be a great help to our candidates and party.

If GPS is desirous to be in the federal cabinet, it is no point to just make up the numbers in the federal cabinet, enjoying air-conditioned room and sipping coffee with other ministers.

Never trust political parties from Malaya. UMNO knew our problems even before Malaysia. Leaders from Malaya, especially, from UMNO before Malaysia was formed came with promises that Sarawak would be treated as an equal partner in the federation of Malaysia. We were being made fools to have signed the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63). Smaller states like Kedah, Perlis and Melaka got better annual budget than us.

DAP secretary-general Loke Siew Fook said DAP will not rule out a collaboration with Umno as “anything is possible in politics” - see 7th August 2022 Free Malaysia Today

The spike in prices of airfares during elections is foreseeable and the GPS government should have plans and ideas to overcome this to ensure that Sarawakians could come back to exercise their constitutional right to vote.

The Elections commission is urged to ban the carrying of cameras and hand phones into voting rooms. This is to prevent buying votes by candidates and political parties that could afford it. The buying of votes by using a camera or hand phone which has camera is a simple process.

(Dayak Daily October 18, 2022)Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof may need to examine how a strong Malaya controlled federal government assisted by Sarawak Barisan Nasional, now rebranded as GPS had failed to do justice to Sarawak in many ways since Malaysia existed in 1963.

Although Gabungan Parti Sarawak (#GPS) will for the first time go alone in general elections but there is no love lost between GPS and Malaya political parties. The relationship was cemented for the past many years.

Ling’s claim that local opposition parties have done less than DAP’s 44 years’ presence in Sarawak is a direct attempt to claim victory for a long lost battle by DAP in Sarawak.

Since Malaysia came into being, the Head of State or Yang Di Pertua Negri Sarawak was always a muslim. This started with the appointment of the Tun Abang Haji Openg bin Abang Sapiee from 16 September 1963 to 28 Mac 1969 by the Yang Di Pertua Agong.

The amendment to Article 44 of Sarawak Constitution leads to acknowledgment by the GPS government that Sarawak is indeed a colony of Malaya. This also shows that the analysis by many politicians and lawyers that Sarawak is a colony of Malaya should not be put to doubt anymore.

(KUCHING, Jan 26 - Dayak Daily - By Ling Hui): The Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) should be renamed as the Sarawak Parliament, opines Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) president Voon Lee Shan. This is so that the proposed Sarawak Parliament will have equal status with the Malaysia Parliament. He asserted that before the Federation of Malaysia was formed, Sarawak was a country by itself and so it must be on par with the Peninsular Malaysia.
