When Bangladesh, known as a poor country, started vaccinating, Sarawak and Malaya were still waiting for a vaccine. Indonesia and Singapore have also started vaccination, and we are still studying which vaccine to use.

The attitude of our government seems to be not serious enough. It wants to conduct the Sarawak election but has not actively solved the problem of vaccine supply and purchase. What is the problem?

Does the government have no purchasing power or the ability to judge the quality of various vaccines? There are daily news reports that Sarawakians have died from the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Today, three more people in Sibu have become unlucky and have become the dead statistics. Each day delay in carrying out vaccination, we will see more people to be infected with the Coronavirus and face the risk of death. This is a race against time. At the same time, the Movement Control Order (MCO) has severely affected the economy and government taxation in Sarawak and the Malay Peninsula. Because of the movement control order, the termination of business activities has caused the people's income to be zero. Waiting for the arrival of vaccines and vaccinations are utmost important to the people.

Malaysia and Sarawak should not fall prey to the conflicts between China and the United States, sandwiched in international politics, making them hesitant to offend the United States when buying vaccines.

It is time to remove and set aside political and religious factors, and decide to purchase effective and inexpensive vaccines to vaccinate the people as soon as possible. Only in this way can there be hope of controlling the spread of the Coronavirus and restarting commercial and economic activities.

The current government's approach is to selectively start some commercial and economic activities before the Coronavirus is under control. The result is horrible. The number of infected and dead is increasing. Do people have extra savings and time waiting for the authorities to make wise decisions?
