The 2026 National Budget has not done much justice to Sarawak. Year in year out for the past sixty years, the Sarawak government was hoping and lobbying for more funds for Sarawak.

This will have no end because revenues collected by the federal departments go straightaway to the federal government and the Sarawak government has no control and also difficult to know how much had been collected each year by the federal government.

Funds collected by the federal government departments should go to the Sarawak State Treasury first and after deductions made as development fund, only then the remaining funds should be sent to Federal Treasury. If such an arrangement could not be agreed by the federal government, Sarawak government should tell the federal government that Sarawak is not happy and wish to exit from the federation of Malaysia. If this is done, the federal government or Malaya should not blame Sarawak for exiting from the federation. Peaceful exit from Malaysia is legal and democratic as long it is done peacefully and with popular support of Sarawakians

Sarawak GPS Government needs to be reminded that the wise words of advice of Lord Landsdowne, the Chairman of the Inter-governmental Committee that Sabah and Sarawak has the intrinsic right to to exit from the federation if the federation brings no benefit to Sabah and Sarawak.

The right to independence is a right passed by the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 1514 and this is recognized under international law.

Unless Sarawak is an independent nation, Sarawak will for long a "political beggar" to MALAYA begging for fund all the time.
