The Minister in charge of national unity is urged to seriouly educate the public of the danger of race politics. He was very quiet until recently not after many made some noise in the press.
We can be born as a Chinese, Iban, Bidayuh, Malay, Melanau, Kelabit, Kenyah,Kayan or be born from other ethnic groups but for PBK, Sarawak has only one race which we called "Sarawakian Race".
Race politics is bad. It can create racial tensions. When race issues are considered, religion comes in because many people and political parties use race and religion together to their advantage or for their political mileage.
The connection/attachment of many people to their religion is mentioned in the constitution. When they are born they automatically belong to the religion. Then royals and kings could be dragged by these people to escalate the tensions against others. The royals or Kings would be used by them because the King represents the country and he's the head of the religion.
They will say "Demi maruah Bangsa, Negara dan Ugama.." This can be extremely dangerous in a multiracial society.
This is where we used to find people politicking about race and religion daily
Our energy is drained and much resources and money been spent to keep peace because of this issue. More laws are passed to the extent they could overlapped with each other.
For past sixty years we didn't have any break where citizens been called by the authorities for investigations.
If money that had been spent to keep peace since Malaysia was formed some over sixty years ago be used to build schools, we could perhaps have at least five to ten universities to help our people to receive proper education.
In China, they have Jews Indians Eurasians hokkien Hakka teochew foochow but they don't call or identify themselves by their ethnic groups. That's why China is strong.
