We had been fighting against Covid-19 for too long. The fight had caused much stress and damage to the economy.
If we want to have an effective government to fight in all crisis we need to fire the ministers and those involved in the failing to do their job well. At least, they should be removed to some other posts. This was what Lee Kuan Yew did for Singapore.
We have to follow successful protocols and What I mean, dead woods should be removed.
In developed countries, PM and responsible cabinet ministers resigned voluntarily when they could not fight the crisis in their countries.
Lockdown is effective if properly executed. It could not be half hearted measures as what it is done now. We nearly succeeded last year in our first Lockdown but a slip for a strict enforcement of SOP caused the Pasai cluster and the Covid-19 had then on caused much menace in the state. This is negligence on the part of those responsible and should be fired.
China was successful in Wuhan because the government was so strict in imposing the lockdown.
If you go to see our roadblocks you may realise many roadblocks were placed in wrong places and enforcement officers sitting in the tents playing handphones. This seldom happened during my time when I was still a police officer. We did not have handphone at that time and no tent, except for a land rover on standby in case of emergency situations. I didn't see or heard senior officers like commissioners and Ketua Polis Daerah came down to inspect roadblocks manned by their officers. We could see piles of food and drinks in the tents for them to enjoy and the attractions of food and drinks could make them less focus at the roadblock. I passed the roadblocks many times with no inspection at all! Many times I saw all officers were sitting inside the tents and none standing at the roadblock.
Many information received by us was that there were no immediate action being taken to quarantine or to provide medical help to cases of people suspected of Covid-19.All things done in a slow pace
Food supplies were a failure with no adequate supplies led to people who wanted food to leave home to look for food instead of locking themselves at home. Some information we received were that many houses were bypassed by food distributors when distributing food in housing estates.
Politicians are not people who should lead the fight against Covid-19 because they may be more concerned about their popularity for political survival than the miseries faced by people during this Covid-19. The fight against Covid-19 is still best placed on the shoulders of professionals and health experts.
