Since MALAYSIA existed, the Sarawak government which was at all times, being controlled by PBB/BN/GPS had always been harping on improving and or providing better infrastructure to people in all elections, but, we hardly see much improvement of infrastructure for the people.Too many people remained poor.
We have seen dilapidated schools, poor roads, no electricity and water supply in many places but we could see mega projects which didn't really benefit the Sarawakians. The RM30 million flagpole which is no far from DUN Building, was not a necessity, and the money even if been donated by an entrepreneur for the flagpole should be used to help poor school children.
The Politics of Development launched by Tun Taib decades ago had until now didn't really benefit the poor people, but the elites and those who are powerful in the corridors of power.
The economic programs of the government still see many people are dependent on handouts and subsidiaries from the government.
Sarawak could not, despite having fertile land, water and sunshine produce enough rice, vegetables , fish and meat for her population.
Without able to produce her own daily needs Sarawak is forced to import all these daily products from foreign countries. This makes daily products expensive and cause inflations.
We hardly now could see pepper grown on large scales like in 1970s and 1980s anymore. In fact, we hardly is able to see pepper plantations now.
It is time now for Sarawakians to abandon the ruling government headed by PBB and vote for change through PBK. You cannot wear "old shirt" all the times. Sarawakians should come out and be daring to change the government.
